Firstly, consider passing your Lego Man on to a friend or fellow traveller who you think will like the idea.
Alternatively you can leave the Lego Man somewhere to be found. A good place is often a matter of luck, but try to keep in mind the following suggestions:
- The place should be a little hidden - the Bystander effect implies that if everyone sees the Lego Man, no-one will do anything.
- The place should not be too hidden - if no-one sees the Lego Man, no-one can pick them up.
- Avoid places where the Lego Man may be mistaken for rubbish. No Lego Man wants to end up in a bin.
- Avoid places where the Lego Man may be mistake for merchandise or similar.
I'll add to this list as I think of things, but ultimately it can only be general advice. The best idea is to just put some thought into the placement and then do it. Don't hang onto your Lego Man forever - they want to see the world!
P.S. If the knots tying the Lego Man to their label have come loose, be sure to retie them:
Loop the cord through the Lego Man's leg.
And then through the label.
Tie the ends together with an overhand knot.
Add a second overhand knot if you have room.
